You may want to ask the staffing firms you've signed up with to assist you in determining why you are not getting a job as quickly as you would like. They want to see you excel in your career (through them, of course) just as much as you do! Make sure that whatever you decide to spend your time and/or money on is actually going to increase your chances of getting the job you want.

Another suggestion is to network, both in person and online (ex: www.linkedin.com)! Always be actively talking with people about their work, especially in a social event. It's through connections that many people find the job of their dreams, and being referred and recommended by friends (especially if the person is already set in place at the company you're aiming to land a job at) is the best way to be presented in a positive light.
References :
I'm a recruiter at a corporation.
