What’s the best way to sell 400,000 copies of a small self help booklet.?
I have a trilogy of small self-published booklets on the subject of immortality, plus a study guide companion. They retail for $5.95 each or $20.00 per set. I currently have them in some spiritual shops. I want to sell 400,000 copies. What do you suggest I do in order to obtain my goal?

I guess you could probably try your local Newsagency and see if they would sell it for you ! Where I am the Newsagencies do that for people. And what have you got to loose?
You could even put an add in the paper – saying that you have these booklets and you can be contacted if you wish to buy one etc

First of all, prepare that booklet in such a way that it worth reading by 400,000 people. Then distribute few for free or sell(selling is better, cos they have sense of buying, so they take it seriously); if it is good enough, automatically 400,000 will buy. No self-help book which sold millions have been marketed or launched in a big way. Its the content that matters. If people are getting benefitted, they will promote your book. Selling the first few books is a tough thing;for which you need to promote from your heart. You genuinely need to believe that it will change others life. Hope i answered your question.

hire an advertising firm and have them do a study on your target audience. Use the study to keep your advertising costs down. Then keep repeating your message. over and over and over again.

Some ideas to market it :
1) Ebay
2) Newspaper adverts
3) Your own website of course
4) Buy lists of people who are interested in "Business Opportunities" Get this from a "List Broker" or direct mail marketing agent
The last one is the key i believe – Direct Mail
