Ones character, confidently displayed (Birth Certificate) open for inspection or observation . Knowing that this becomes intrusive should have been sufficient deterrent .

The only thing that qualifies a person to be president is being president. You may think being governor qualifies a person, I don’t, although some governors have made descent presidents. I think being a general is a great qualification, the best in fact, unfortunately, they rarely make good enough politicians to get the job.

In the last election, Bill Ricardson had the best resume of all 20 candidates from the 2 main parties, but he was never one of the top 6 candidates. See, for most of us, it’s not about a resume. We all have our own basis for selecting the person we vote for, but experience is just something we use to justify our choice. We spend too much time eliminating people for stupid reasons and that is more important than choosing a person for the right reasons.

When it really comes down to it though, we are trying to choose the best leader and the measure of a leader is how well they lead. In the end, the politician who gets the most voters to follow is the one who wins.

It’s probably not the best way to select our leader, but it is democracy.

Now for the people providing years, add them up and look at Obama’s age……….This guy has never held a Job and got his Senate seat because the guy he ran against couldn’t keep his pants up. The nicest way to put it is a vote for something else, 20 years of Clinton’s and Bushes in the white House was just to much of the same ole same ole! Sad to say Him being Black helped. I wonder if Hillary would of been better At the very least Bill could of been comic relief.

Nice post and all good points!

Problem is , the American people should have been in this frame of mind about 16 months ago!

The way I see it, first the American people were ‘sold’, that only the Democrats can lead the country.

Then the people were ‘sold’ that Bush and the Republicans created a bad economy by supporting big business/banks!

Then the ‘media’ went to work ‘selling’ Obama as ‘the one’!

In effect, America was ‘bamboozled’ and ‘hoodwinked’ !

Now we have a President that can’t ‘lead’ but is a ‘great campaigner’!

Why Obama?

Well, he’s a Democrat, he talks a good line, and he’s a ‘minority’!

Sadly, that was enough!

According to a recent DEMOCRAT Presidential campaign, even a few months as Governor is better than a LIFETIME in the Senate.
That Governor is the most "President-like" job that exists is conspicuously true – which is WHY Obama supporters claim the opposite.
Of course, the core idea is that to be Chief Executive, some executive experience is a good idea since even DECADES of "non-executive" experience is completely irrelevant.
Thus, if you spent a couple years as a shift supervisor at a McDonald’s without completely cocking-it-up, Obama is STILL less qualified to be President than you are.

the people voted him in because they wanted to be apart of history well most of the people but others actually believed all his campaign promises which most of the promises he could not full fill yes he does not have the exp. like he said "I am ready for this job on day 1" obviously he wasn't

I don't think voters took his lack of managerial experience into consideration. It appears like the Jim Jones followers who thought of him as a messiah type who would solve all their problems and lead them to the promise land. They also fell for the smooth articulate talk, but all con artists have the same ability.

Very few, if any, voted for him because he was black. They voted for him because he was not Republican.

But you can go on all day about what you think the qualifications should be. There has never been a President in our history that has had all the experience that people use to justify hating Obama. Some claim military experience is a requirement, while US Grant was one of the worst presidents we’ve had. Obama may not have run a state, but he ran a couple of very large organizations, whether or not you approve of them. And according to you George Bush should have been considered qualified, since he did run a state.

The hard fact is that no one is ever qualified to be President when he takes office. There is no job comparable to the demands of the presidency. Any other "qualifications" are artificial and used to excuse not voting for someone you don’t like.
