I just applied for a job online, spent hours on the cover letter, resume etc and turns out theres an error!!?

should I shoot him a quick email (rather than use the online tool) to apologise?
I spelt my new managers name incorrectly!!! Oh dear…….

I guess I won’t have a chance in hell of gaining an interview.

Should I submit it again? Would this look bad?

we all make mistakes. you might like to email him and be brief, don’t agonise over it. just say sorry but you noticed a typo and you hope he’ll still consider your application. if he’s human he should be fine about it.

if you’re doing an online application form the best way to do it is to print it out at home and check it for spelling mistakes. don’t ever rely on the spellchecker on the pc cos pcs can’t spell! looking at printed text on paper makes it easier to spot mistakes. and always check the standard details like job title, location, ecetera.

good luck :)

Shoot him an email apologizing and also with a corrected format. I don’t think it is as bad as not saying that you didn’t notice it at all. See what happens after that.
