Send email to check if cover letter, resume and references where received?
Is this okay and if so, what is the proper way to write such an email? I emailed this business my cover letter, resume and references for an open position on 9/19.
It should say, were received, NOT WHERE.
It is a quite responsible thing to do …and you should.
Most employers should recognize that you are mature and take responsibility by such a move.
There is nothing wrong with inquiring if these were received. A lost of companies would have sent you verification.

I think it is perfectly fine. The only situation I would not do it if it were from a bigger company that sends you an e-mail confirmation "resume was received" or "application was submitted". Sometimes, they might get annoyed if you inquired. Otherwise, if you have not heard anything from them..it is perfectly fine to talk to an HR person. Sometimes, they receive many resumes at a time and are overwhelmed…or the process is going slow. E-mail is the best way since some companies do not like you calling.

No, I would not send a follow up letter to that. Check to see if the position is still listed and if so submit your information a second time.
