How would potential employers handle a mistake on a resume cover letter specifically the wrong year?

At worst, it will appear you were lying on the resume (cause for dismissal, if you are hired) and at best, that you are careless and unprofessional.
if you have sent a resume with a mistake, you could send a corrected version, with an apology for having mistakenly sent a ‘draft’ instead of the final version.
