    Not very effective at all unless you need someone to proofread. Then only take the resumes with no typos or misspellings.

    The resume, etc. are to weed out unqualified people. It takes a face-to-face interview to read a person. If you’re good at sorting b.s., that’s the way to go. There are very few people who can interview future employees well enough to get the info they need as well as measure a person’s traits. Finding someone who has the right credentials and will fit with your corporate culture is difficult.
