Offshore Oil Rig Medic?

Right now im in the army as a 68w Health care specialist (Combat Medic). I’m currently an EMT-B and have the choice to add a year to my contract and go to school to be an LPN. But almost everything i read says they want paramedics for offshore oil rigs. Will LPN work or no? any other information about the job would be greatly appreciated.

LPN won’t work. LPN’s are trained to be part of a medical team in a hospital, while paramedics are trained to operate as a sole medical provider out in the field. LPN’s simply don’t have the skills necessary to do the job.
