LGBT: Do you like/love your current job..?

If you don’t mind me asking, what do you (for a living) ? How long have you been working there? Do you enjoy it? Full time or part time / casual thing?

Do you know anyone who is very work orientated? Family, friends etc..?

*sigh* I’m having a bit of trouble deciding on what I’m going to do now that I’ve finished high school. My family is very work orientated and it’s kinda of putting pressure on me to succeed. I want to do good for myself too though. But I’m just very indecisive when it comes to these things. Ha. Been anxious and stressing my brains out lately. I just really want to be like one of those people who wake up and really want to get working because they love their jobs so much!

Anywho

Thanks in advance ~
I’m sorry for anyone of you that have crappy situations and hope you the best for the future.

At the moment I’m waiting on doing a Graphics Design course, I feel it’s just perfect for me :) Hope I get in though, if not I will just wait a year and reapply next time. Either way I’m glad I’ve figured out the next step.

I don’t have a job.. However, starting next week, I will be a Assistant Professor for a Creative Writing Course and a few other English classes at a college here. ^_^
Bet they’ll love that a seventeen year old is teaching them.
Baahaha.

I want to get a job, though; sadly I cannot drive. Which makes things difficult because my mother refuses to drive me places (because, she’s "oh-so-busy") and I don’t really live in walking distance of anywhere I could work. Stupid suburbs.

At the moment I’m unemployed. But I’m an Electronics Engineer, and I’ve always done some form of research. I love working with tools and equipment in the lab, and basically getting paid for playing. I’m a geek. I wish I could find another job, I’m bored.

But most companies in the USA have either given up on or outsourced their engineering and research. So it sucks.

im doing an intership as a potographer and i love it. its something i took up @ the being of high school and i cant stop, lol. i understand what you mean. my mother and father have both been working since they we’re fresh out of high school and my mom is just now retiring after 30 years. and she CAN NOT wait to get out, but she needed something to take care of her kids. i would die if i had to do something i didnt want to everyday for th next 30 yrs. way to take yrs off your life right? just look into it and look for things you want to do. i pretty much gave up on trying to please my family with my decision on my future career. be a dotor, be a lawyer, blah blah blah. no. i just forgot about everyone else and made the choice on my own.

i hope you figure out what you wanna do b4 you get out of school, it does help, lol. but if not, thats okay to. i never hurts to take a year off and try and figure it out w/o all the pressure on you. dont sweat it girlie.

I was working Part time in a big department store while I was at college. When I finished college I was totally clueless about what direction I wanted my life to go so I took the easy way out…I went full time at my part time job. For 2 years I was earning pretty crap money in a job I didnt like that had no prospects or future so one day I just handed my notice in and took the 1st job that came along. (The 1 im in now)
The job I do now is ok, pretty boring but it has opened my eyes to what I want to do for a career. Because of this job I have got a little bit of experience working with websites and do a college course one night a week in web design. I have been at my current job since August. I doubt I will be here more than a year but for now its ok.
I come to work at 9 leave at 6..5 days a week earn my money and thats that. Sometimes you have to do a few jobs you dont like to realise what job you do want to do.

    =)

Me, I’m employed by the Queen. (Technically)

I do HR work. Never really thought I would ever end up doing that, but I have a very different view on work than I used to

Work is now a means to an ends. Its there to provide the money to have a decent enough life. Work pays for the good things in life. I work to live, rather than live to work.

My idea job would be working for a motor manufacturer developing new models. But not much call for that in the UK and dont have the qualifications or skills.

At the time I am a phone operator for a tobacco mail order company (VERY BORING) that where I am now(on here because I have nothing better to do) don’t mind the job I just hate that it is so boring! I wish I had a different one. I had a Cosmetology license I just wish I could get a job in a salon. What are you interested in? You should try to find a job in that it makes it much better and easier to go to work everyday. I work full time 43.5 hours a week.Good Luck on your search

The last job I had was a paper round when I was 14/15. I had to take 3 or 4 months off because I was hit by a car and badly injured (nothing to do with the paper round lol) and when I got better they said they didn’t want me back =[

I haven't had a job since then because school has got so crazy. But this is my last year (yay!) and I'm starting a degree in Architecture in September. I'm so excited about that, I've wanted to be an architect for years!

Both my parents are very work-oriented. My dad's an engineer of some sort and my mum's a teacher. We used to live in England and we only moved up here (Scotland) because my dad was offered his "ideal job". He loves his job way too much lol.

as of right now i am a receptionist for a small company. i do office work (filing, enter orders into the computer, etc… BORING! lol) i been here for almost 2 years. its an easy job and not very stressful. i dont mind working here, its okay for now. but i am going to college to be an accountant, which i think i will enjoy. You need to find something you are good at, or like doing. and find a career which will put your best skills to work! (after all, if you are good at something, it gives you incentive to keep doing it cuz it feels good to be good at it lol ya know?) … ive been out of high school for 4 years now and i just started college this month. those 4 years after high school i spent trying to figure out what it is i wanted to do with my life. so dont feel bad that ur not jumping right into college lol. well i didnt think my answr would be this long, but anyway, best of luck to u!!

Well, I created my job, I am a booking agent/promoter for local bands in my area.
I also manage one band, it is a great job, but it can also be frustrating, loud, and expensive.
But I enjoy it, I love the running around and beating of bushes to get venues to let my bands play their place.
I’ve been doing this for only a short time, but I feel I finally found the niche for me.
You need to find something that you love and that will make you happy, something that you will enjoy doing.
I hope you find what your looking for.
