Do you like/love your job….Do you wish you had a different one……………..?

I want to know if you like/love your job and how you found the right career path to follow. If you haven’t then what did you want to be? Why didn’t you go for it? I’m trying to find out what career path is right for me. I just want to know how yo ufound yours.

Hello. Good question you’re asking, and I’d have to say no… I don’t like my job. There are times, of course (thank God), that I like my job and enjoy the perks from time to time. I a 40 something man who works as a cashier, I’m making more than I have ever in my life, and with my job I’ve been able to go on vacation each year (I’ve been to NYC seven times). What my passion is is photography, and there’s just something really enjoyable when I’m functioning in my element composing a shot and then taking it. I send off my film and see so many pleasing images. It’s wonderful. I’ve not actually had a real career path, but I’d like to make it as a pro in photography. I believe fear and the lack of finances are the biggest things that keep me from going for it. Going for your dreams mean and demand working hard to achieve them. Hard work equals a payoff, and the payoff can do something real good for your life. Whatever you decide to go for, make a strong resolute decison, work at your craft honing your skill, and find those in it to give you insights you’d not get otherwise. Do go for a career just because it’ll make big money. There are folks who make BIG money but are not satisfied, then they have to backtrack and go do something else. You’ll be ahead of that should you heed the input here! Discover what you love, take aptitude tests, talk to others and get their input, and then go for it. Good luck.

Wow, I’m sure some people look for the job that seems to be right for them. Or at least take jobs that are in areas or fields that you like. I was in accounting, ended up working with computers between 1998 to 2004 and ended up in I.T.

I LOVE LOVE my job. But it didn’t even really exist when I was in college.

At least look for jobs that are in your interest range.

Also, there are tests you can take to see where your interests lie.

I think that when you enjoy going to your job everyday, you have found the right job for you. I have worked in 2 non-profit agencies most of my life…both sort of social work type of jobs. Not the best pay, but very flexible and I am helping people. That is what makes me happy. I would say that finding my job was just luck, but I think God does everything for a reason. So 1st I would say start praying that God will show you the right path. Then realize that you are there 8 hours a day. It’s not worth being miserable. Find a job that you can really enjoy.
