Be honest. Would you be willing to work at your current job for free? For 1 day?

I would. That’s how you know you love your job. :P

If it wasnt for taking time away from my kids at home I would… everyone I work with is hilarious, and everyday its something new, yet we still get everything done on time and properly and the plant runs smoothly…

So I guess I do like my job…

Not even a second. Not even for half-pay.

    We’re not treated very well.

My day job, no. I wish I were in the position to love it enough to want to work there for free, but the pettiness of my coworkers is just not something I would endure on a volunteer basis. Even for a day. As for my creative avocations (songwriting, writing), I would certainly do them without pay, as I do much of the time as it is.

I work for myself, and today, I am typing 3 books I have written. I will not be paid until I sell some of the books. It will take a while to finish my work, since I am not a fast typist. One book is a 4th edition. I worked 2 months typing the previous edition, so it was a while before I earned a penny from it. Another book is a 3rd edition. I had bad luck on the previous one and took nearly 2 years to finish it. Very bad health was much of the problem. I did not earn anything on it for over 2 years. The 3rd book in progress is another 3rd edition, and I have the typing done on the text in 3 days, since I keep it up to date, and it is shorter than the other books. I still must redo the title page, contents page, covers and some illustrations. Meanwhile, I have some fiction for sale at Borders Books and other stores. I worked on them a few years ago, and now i am earning money from them. As you see, I may be working for free 2 years on some projects.

Ha! Funny you should ask. I begain this job when I was independently wealthy, as a hobby. Then I lost my donkey and now HAVE to do it full time. Kinda changes your attitude -
