How to become a French teacher in Canada ?
Hi !
I’m French, living in French since I was born.
I’ve always wanted to move to an English-speaking country and I think Canada is the one for me !
I’d like to become and French second language teacher. As I said I’ve been living in France for my whole life so I speak French natively.
I speak English fluently and have no problem understanding it.
Anyways, I wanted to know how could I become a French teacher in the English speaking part of Canada (I was thinking about Ontario).
Do I have to go there for my studies or can I stay in France ? (I’m in 1ère now, equivalent to the 11th grade) And, of course what kind of studies shall I do ?
I was also wondering how do Canada hire new teachers ? In France you have to pass an exam and the first 10% (depends on the year) automatically become teachers. Is it like that too ?
And (last question), is it difficult to get a visa to live and work in Canada (like a US Green Card) ?
Thanks in advance !!
Yes I know that I’ll need more than an 11th grade. This is just to know where should I go after my 12th grade.
This would be strange 11th graders teachers ^^
You are going to need a lot more than 11th grade!
You need an undergraduate degree then have to go to teachers college.
Ontario is always in need of french teachers though!
