How do I become a teacher?

I have a B.A. in Political Science but no education certification. I don’t have the money to go back to school. I have no education certification or experience. Im in Maryland and the Policies that I have found online are very vague. So how would i become a teacher since I cant seem to land any other job?

unless you teach in aprivate school you will need certification in your state. there are 6 month programs for it but you will have to pay either by loan or cash money. what could you teach i guess anything in the area of your degree. teaching college you need a masters. good luck.
some school may hire you and pay for your cert. if you can find a school like that in your arae.

In this economy, you won’t find a school district that will pay for your certification – you need to get it on your own. Unfortunately, you would have to go back to school.

The qualifications probably vary by state – in Canada, they vary by province. In any case you will have to complete at least a one year teaching program. Here in BC, you can no longer become a teacher if you studied a subject such as Poli Sci that is considered a non-teaching subject. You would have to complete course work for at least a minor in a teachable subject. There is probably a teachers’ qualifying service in Maryland – contact a teaching union to find out how to get more info.

Becoming a teacher requires a lot of hardwork, commitment and discipline.
