Mothers: How do you decide whether to choose between career and family?
I am writing a thesis and would like information and experience. Thank you for your help.
I raised two boys, they are grown now, I chose to stay at home with them and give up the career thing at that time.As they were more important to me. By the time that you count all your costs , gas, clothing, babysitter, etc…… I was working just to pay for all of these things. Now that they are grown and gone I have a career and time to do what I want to do. Hope this helps , have a great day

My experience: Once I became a mother, my entire perspective of work changed. I was no longer working to try to climb the proverbial corporate ladder, but instead working to keep a paycheck to support me and my child. Unlike co-workers with no kids, I had to leave right at 5 to pick up child at daycare, so I wasn’t perceived as being serious about work (so the life of mom’s in the workplace). Does this help?
