At the end of the day it is your life and you have to live with the consequences of your decisions. Do what you think is best for you. If majoring in IT isn't ideal for you any longer than you won't be happy with the accomplishment anyway...but is it just that you're burned out on it? Would you have the same problem later on in the nursing field? Have you had problems following through with things in the past i.e. piano lessons.
You cannot live for your parents even if they are paying for college (don't know if this is the case). You are old enough to spread your wings and leave the nest so at some point you have to decide to grasp your future and take it where you want to go.

On the other hand don't compare your education or career ahgainst those of others...it's usually a negative practice pitting you against donald trump and his success versus your failure is not fair to yourself just dowhat you can I'm 26 and still haevn't finished with my generals--I've gone different ways but still if you want to compare yourself to somebody else compare yourself to me. Good luck God bless
References :
Your parents does have a point about finishing what you've started. But at the same time, it's your life and you have a right to decide what you want to do with it. It's obvious that you do not want to become a nurse so think long and hard about what you really want to do before you decide to switch majors. This way you can avoid being this depressed in your near future.
References :
How do you know you'd like to be a nurse? Maybe you should take some time to volunteer in the hospital, to see what it's really like. Personally, my parents advised me to stick with what I was doing and see it through, and it turned out to be the right course of action. Oh, and 24 isn't old. And your peeps aren't making all that much money: you'll do better with a degree than without.
