And i am thinking to get a big of muscle mass on and set goals to what body parts i want to get bigger and whatnot like bigger arms and chest. I have so many questions about diet and training that i would probably flood the forum asking, so i was wondering if a personal trainer form a gym will guide me in the right way to get what i want or as close as i want. Thanks

I would say it couldn’t hurt.

This is my question I’m doing for an extended essay I’m starting my abstract which is a small one to two paragraph sort of like a summary and I must give the answer to my question in it, what I believe. I think if Truman wouldn’t have been so stuck up about it and supported MacArthur and his decisions they could have proceeded further and with a long shot might have accomplished the goals set out for in the war. I just need some more information on my topic I’m finding sources to be difficult and some help to guide me if I’m wrong. personal opinions anything.

MacArthur was a general. generals want to wage war and totally defeat the enemy, obliterate the enemy, squash the enemy like a bug. he wanted to go all the way to Peking and then to Moscow if possible
Truman was a politician and a pragmatist, he did not want to use the bomb again. he did not want to have to send in an occupation army if we did use the bomb and defeat China, which could not have been done on the ground. so he had no choice but to recall MacArthur. MacArthur actually committed troops, and disobeyed a direct order from his commander.
(unlike current pres who got upset because somebody said something bad about him.)

I have a few months break before next semester. I am doing my degree and will enter final year in the next few months. This is officially my last set of holidays before i begin working after i complete my degree and i want to make the most of it. I have been home for the past 2 weeks and i feel no drive or motivation and i just feel lazy, tired and just want to relax. I need to start now. I have gathered some module guides for next semester so i am attempting to get a lot done since i want to complete the sylabus befor school starts so when i actually do it in school i will have a better understanding and be more capable.
I want to exercise and become toned and i haven’t started that yet. I want to learn to cook as well as read some books on changing my bad behaviours so i can be a better person.

Please tell me what i can do to really start this process. I know what i have to do and i am fully aware that i need to maximize this time i have. HELP!!!!!

First, write a list of things you WANT to do. Next, write a list of things you NEED to do. Next, i know this will sound "childish", but create a time table(schedule). Keep in mind the 2 lists that you have written when constructing your time table and give piority to things you NEED to do. Remember to strike a balance since all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Once completed, stick to your schedule closely. Remember to set abit of time aside for your friends and family or you may find that your schedule will go hay wire.

Assalamu Alaikum
Hows it going!?
InshAllah all is well =]
i found this poem and i really liked it so i thought id share it =]

…Temptation…

I wish I knew what I was worth to you
here’s some thoughts not a few
why do you seem to entrap all?
in the pits of your darkness where many fall!
I do see as I am not blind
Guidance from Allah I can’t leave behind!

I keep thinking and wondering upon it so restlessly
when preoccupied intermingling suggestions make me
deluded in a deep slumber yet I’m still wide awake
realising the life of this world just seems so fake!

my heart begins to swell at the thought
its confusing me, as I’m unable to sort
why is it your constantly on my mind
I look deeply hoping for something to find
its overwhelming when choosing the wrong from right
I know your no good so I must fight
from you I must stay away
prostrating in Sujood to Allah I must pray!

The stronger you become the weaker I get
its about time I get my goals set
Your nothing but a waste of time!
All you do is cause me to whine!
I can’t be a prisoner in the fire
as I must aim higher
Nearer and closer to eternal bliss
the target which I cannot miss

Its Shaytaan’s tool for causing self deception
in trying to make us forget everything is but worldly temptation
the life of this world is indeed all but amusement and play
May Allah Guide us All, on the straight way!

Aameen !

"The life of this world is nothing except play and amusement. But truly the home of the hereafter – that is the life indeed – if they only knew."- {6:32}

~Peace may you all have a lovely day InshAllah ?!
i wanted to share it more for the message then the actually poem and i didnt write it i found it so i dont want any credit for it good/bad

Actually it reads like you’re trying too hard to express yourself. The 3rd and 5th line are oddly worded and then it gets too much of a mouthful. I like the message definately but it seems a bit overdone. Overall a 3.5/5

About The Board
The Indiana Professional Standards Board is established to govern teacher training and licensing programs. Notwithstanding any other law, the board and the board’s staff have sole authority and responsibility for making recommendations concerning and otherwise governing teacher training and teacher licensing matters. Public Law 46-1992
With these words the state legislature in 1992 created and empowered the Indiana Professional Standards Board. The Board’s mandate encompasses all components of the education profession. The Board consists of nineteen members, eighteen of whom are appointed by the Governor, and the nineteenth is the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, who serves ex officio. Thirteen of the eighteen appointed members are required to hold an Indiana teacher’s license and must be actively employed by a school corporation. These members represent specific subjects, positions, and grade levels. These include: a superintendent, two principals, a director of special education, an early childhood teacher, an elementary education teacher, a middle/junior high school teacher, a special education teacher, a vocational education teacher, a student services representative, an English/language arts teacher, a mathematics teacher, and a science teacher. Three members must represent Indiana teacher preparation units within Indiana public and private institutions of higher education. There are two public members, one a school board’s representative, a second a business representative.
Fulfilling the Mission
In its first year, the Board decided to undertake two tasks. It moved to maintain and support the program areas of the state Department of Education, which had been placed under the Board’s jurisdiction. It determined its mission and vision, which would serve as guides to long term goals and specific decisions. The Board determined that before it could adequately determine its mission and vision statements, it first had to understand the current research, trends, and issues in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve (P-12) education. Accordingly, the Board undertook a year of study during which its members both read extensively and heard from many national and state leaders in the preparation of education professionals and the fields of P-12 education. After this year of research, the Board wrote and adopted its Mission and Vision Statements.
The first portion of the Board’s Mission Statement reads " . . . to establish and maintain rigorous, achievable standards for educators beginning with pre-service and continuing throughout their professional careers." Initially, the Board assessed the current systems and practices in these areas and found that Indiana had strong programs in the preparation and induction of education professionals. However, the Board also believed, based on its research and dialogue with education leaders, that new goals and standards could elevate to even higher levels the quality of education professionals in the state. This belief was put into action in August of 1994, when the Board voted to adopt performance-based standards for the preparation and licensure of education professionals.
The Board believes that performance-based standards will bring three advantageous results. First, these performance standards will reflect the growing national consensus on the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to provide a high quality of instruction.. Second, these standards will provide a linkage to Indiana’s goals for students in P-12 education, and last, these standards will focus on demonstrated ability to impart knowledge rather than considering only if an education professional has knowledge.
A Unified System of Quality Assurance: Standards Supporting the Redesign
The new performance-based licensing system will encompass the same three phases as the current model (preparation, induction and continued practice). The differences between the new and current models center on how education professionals are prepared and how candidates for licensure are assessed. The focus will be on achieving standards and the actual demonstration of understanding and application. Just as the goal for P-12 education is making learning a lifelong process for students, so the goal for teacher preparation is to make knowledge and skills related to teaching a career long process. Key to the reform of teacher preparation and licensure is a unified system of standards and assessments throughout the career of the education professional.
An important foundation for Indiana’s new system is the work done by professional organizations at the national level in setting standards for all phases which are interrelated and consistent. These groups include:
The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). NCATE provides a mechanism for voluntary peer regulation of the professional education. NCATE is designed to establish and uphold professional standards of exc

In 1192 the state of Indiana set up a board that was to teach and license teachers throughout the state, this board was to decide how they were going to do just this, they used the first year to decide what needed to be done then in 1994 they decided that teacher’s would be tested on their license would be based on a performance review. Now they have decided that it just would not be a one time thing that these teachers would be tested throughout their teaching career. This way they would stay current on all things.

I’m Christian and am a spiritual individual. Before going to sleep last night I asked my higher power, God, to show me a sign that my dreams and goals are not lying dormant and that everything is going to be alright. See I’m not where I should be but I’m far from where I started and I had a little halt in my life which set me back and things got a little rough. I know everything is going to be alright; however, I just needed some assurance. So I had this dream about a butterfly, right? I can’t recall if he was dark colored or light but I remember him being brighter than blue. He clung on to me like a pet and we were in a downtown type of apartment with a friend of mine with a scenic view. It was almost like a fantasy enchanted type setting. As we walked to toured the city, which I didn’t recognize, the wind began to blow a little hard. It became difficult to keep up with the butterfly even though he was in my hand most of the time and he would be blown away from me. He’d come back but the more we walked in the direction the stronger the wind became. At one point I lost the butterfly but he flew by me (a little humorous) and caught on to my hair and wouldn’t let go. I didn’t know where he was and the tour guide informed me he was clinging to my hair. I decided to turn around but doing so it seem the wind got worse but I held the butterfly in my hands and held them tightly together makings sure not to squash him as he comfortably spread his wings flat to position the way I was holding him. I thought I had lost him and in the dream was very upset at one point. As the night skyline beautifully set we made it hope where I put him on the top of my shower head as I took a shower (yeah I know). In the dream it seemed like it took me about a minute to shower in which I held my eyes closed tight so soap wouldn’t burn my eyes. When I finished the butterfly was still sitting there, not to mention I had the window cracked that he could have flew out of just so he wouldn’t dehydrate, comfortably, wings down as if he had just came from his cocoon still asleep. That was my pet and he loved me and much as I loved him. Does anyone have any interpretation on what that dream could mean?

I realize you and others think butterflies may be considered lovely little creatures that would symbolize something beauteous, fragile, delicate etc… as we associate such a creature with positive attributes, however, I’m sorry to be the bearer of "different" news. A butterfly denotes inconsistency and changeability, perhaps something to expect soon. You will face a time of insecurity and inconsistency. Things are unsettled and not as you want them to be. Additionally, the wind is not a good sign as it bespeaks a form of punishment you will undergo for deeds left unpunished. If you’ve honestly made a "right" turn and wish things to be better, have patience and grit your teeth for the upcoming time until the winds of change settle. Things will not be as you want for some time. Have patience and keep the faith. All believers are tested.

The goals and main things I have tried doing in life have never worked out, why does this happen so often? What are reasons things in peoples life dont work out? The goals I have arent even lofty. The reasons they dont work out are reasons beyond my control and it makes it even more frustrating.

A/ by Don H /Just work with what is rather than try to bend reality to fit some predetermined goal.

You will quickly find that it works out far better for you that way.

A/ Kristen/
A/ by George /I trust people.

A/ by Happy Hiram/For me, this has been the result of unrealistic goals and people around me who have reinforced as good my mediocrity. You need people around you who will not accept anything but your best, and you need to set goals that are attainable.

If then you get nowhere repeatedly, you know the fault is your own. But without discipline and honest feedback, success in your chosen endeavors is most likely doomed, by ignorance and self-delusion.

A/ by The Path I Choose/"Ma vie est dure parce que les autres me la rendent dure."

my life is tough because of the others who make it tough for me.

A/by phil8656/ Sometimes life itself just seems to be "beyond our control". Keep in mind that the goals of other people affect our goals too. And, even worse, the goals of some INCLUDE US. The important thing to keep in mind is to use goals as a vision, or guide post, to strive for. And they can change direction at our whim.

A/ by Larry/don’t be such a pansy. if you want it, make it happen. look at edison–that is an ideal person to emulate if you have goals that have been thwarted by things out of your control.

A/ by Minski /this is because of a little known law called The Law of Octaves. Also called The Law of Seven (even though octave means eight, it’s seven notes and a repeat of the first note, one octave higher)

Things start out going in a certain direction. Suppose you have a sinkful of dirty dishes and you want to wash them all? From start to finish, that is the octave. There are seven points along the way where the process moves towards completion and generally, it proceeds automatically. But there are TWO places in the octave where the impetus of completion isn’t as strong and the direction could change, without you really even noticing it. Or somehow justifying the new, incorrect direction.

It’s called the law of octaves because, like the note of the musical scale, it echoed the MUSIC OF THE SPHERES. There are two missing semitones in the octave, most apparent in the black keys of the piano. There are three black keys between white keys, then a missing black key, then two black keys, then another missing black key then three black keys again. Two missing semitone where the vibration slows down.

This is most apparent at the end. The SI-DO interval is stronger than the MI-FA interval. If you ever try to do a complete something or other, notice that at the very end, you’ll want to just walk away from it. You don’t care anymore. It’s one of the reasons we don’t ENTIRELY finish our cup of coffee but leave a little in the bottom of the cup. Or why we KNOW that we somehow still have over a third of a cup left, no matter HOW large the cup of coffee was in the first place: 8 ounces, 12 ounces or 16 ounces.

This all refers to ascending octaves. For descending octaves, the most difficult part is at the beginning…at the DO-SI interval. This is why matches don’t spontaneously catch on fire. You have to put energy INTO the system by striking the match. Then it continues to burn by itself, without any further help from the outside.

A/ by Eternal Realm /The malevolent Wheel of Fortune, how it spins on before our eyes!
O Eternal Circle, entangled web of all Life, Free Will is but a lie!
>

Why things don’t work out in real life mmm ~ sometimes circumstances are just not right, but then if you try hard enough ~ there is always a way ~ you just need to want it badly enough and work towards that goal. But everyone involved needs to be on board or it will not work. Sort of like nailing just one shoe to the floor ~ you just keep going around in circles
