Help finding a good Sample of a resume?

So, I want to apply for a job at this music store (i’m 18 and I only have a high school education), and to apply I need to give them my resume. While I have had several jobs, none of them ever required me to write a resume, so I actually don’t know what one is supposed to look like. Can anyone here give me some guidelines as to how to write it out and maybe a sample resume for me too look at?

Resumes are pretty standard regardless of where you are applying.

They typically consist of a few sections:
- Objective
- Experience
- Education
- (any other sections specific to your field…i.e. license)

In your resume, focus on the details of your communication skills. List any relevant courses you may have taken in high school, college, or technical school. For help on writing resumes, visit this page:

Where can I find sample resumes for young people like myself that don’t have a specific career goal? The sample resumes I’ve found are mostly professional. I’m just trying to make up a nice resume that will help my chances of getting hired but I’m not aiming for any job in particular. Any suggestions?

also, is an objective required on the front of the resume? what does it need to contain? also, how detailed should i be with work history?

Check out your local Public Library – they have LOTS of great books on this subject. Sometimes they also have free seminars.

No, an objective is no longer required on the Resume – that is a dated concept.

Should a writing sample be printed on resume or standard paper?

A prospective employer has asked that I submit a couple writing samples after the first job interview. I wanted to submit them with my thank you letter which will be on nice resume paper, but for some reason it seemed strange to me to put the writing samples on that fancy paper. What do you think?

Regular paper is completely acceptable.

How do I deal with a pen name when submitting writing samples for a job?

I need a few writing samples for a job I’d like to apply for and I have plenty; the only problem is that they’re all written under a pen name. Do I add a mention in my resume and these samples that they were written by me "as so-and-so" or is this a bizarre authorship gray area?

I’ve placed the position over the company for years and have managed to find work without a lot of problem. I figure employers are more concerned about WHAT you did than WHERE you did it. Most employers will not recognize the companies listed on my resume so why highlight them? It’s me they’re considering hiring, not my former employers. Most of my colleagues’ resumes and other samples I’ve seen show organization, then position. Please provide a source if you agree or disagree.

i have never have a job as i am a teen and would like to get one soon as possible i do nothing know how I’m suppose to write a first time resume.i would like to see free resume samples as well as first time job samples i once found this site for teen’s for first time job that had listing’s of other things to put on it such as,,hobbies intrents and activates.
