How would I go about going into the Inn and turning the resume and cover letter in?
I mean, who do I ask for or who do I give it to?

Usually there is a front desk manager or office manager on duty during daytime- weekday hours. Simply go to the front desk ( during a non rush time) and ask to speak to a manager on duty. You can also leave it at another location since managers share qualified applications for open positions.

If the advertisement you are replying to doesnt include a contact name then call the company and ask for the name and job title of the person who will be hiring for that position.

Addressing your potential employer by name will give you a strong start to your cover letter and help make a great first impression.

I do not have experience working with Urban Outfitters however as a Corporate Recruiter I will advise you to forward a resume and cover letter in addition to the application. It can set you apart from other applicants and will be perceived as "Professional". Do not hesitate it will effect your chances positively.

Just make a generic cover letter addressed ‘to whom it may concern’.

In the letter state your experience – if you have none just state what you have been doing (studying and whatever) and then state the skills you have (good communication skills, team player etc) and then at the end of the letter state a general answer of why you want to work for them (the company offers an environment that is exciting and challenging and you think you could contribute to the team etc.)

Print lots of copies and give them out. Voila.

Your cover letter should be on normal letter-size paper, which, as you know, is slightly larger than an 8×10 headshot. You can enclose a resume on letter-size paper, but many people prefer that you trim your resume to fit and staple or tape it to the back of your photo.

Hi, I am a US citizen married to a British citizen. We are planning to move to the UK this fall as he will begin a PhD program in Scotland. I need to get a job and am starting to apply from the US. I assume I need to mention something about having legal permission to work since I’m married to a Brit (but can’t actually get the form until I arrive there). We can’t move unless I get a job first, though. What do I need to mention in my cover letter and resume. Are their resume and cover letter styles very different from the US?

You will find that what is called a Resume in the US is known as a CV in Britain (Curriculum Vitae). I would guess the formats are pretty much the same. Do you have any evidence at all of your situation – why don’t you inquire at your nearest British Embassy? I’m a Brit who successfully renewed my British Passport at the British High Commission (Embassy) in Kingston, Jamaica because I was resident in Jamaica at the time

Hi, just wondering. When emailing your resume/cover letter, is it okay to write your cover letter in the body of the email and attach your resume as a separate file, or should both the cover letter and resume be attached as separate files? If so, what should you write in the body of the email?

Thanks

It may be best to use the email body for your cover letter, as an attachment may never be downloaded/read. Your resume has the most formatting, so the attachment will keep its appearance intact. Cover letters, not so much, so the text of the email is fine. If you do make both the letter and resume attachments, then treat the body of the email like a fax cover sheet:
Dear soandso,
Please accept the attached resume and cover letter as my expressed interest in joining your company as its next xxxxx. I am certain that my ## years of experience in this industry will be an asset to your business goals. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a personal interview, please call me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Thank you.
Kind regards,
