Well I’m going to school to earn my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts and I want to become an art teacher in the long run. I know that after I complete my studying for my degree, I’ll have to get my teaching certificate, but then what?
what the hell? work @ wal-mart? uhh no thanks. My passion is to be a teacher so that’s what i’m going to be. If you don’t have a positive response for the question then don’t respond at all.

Okay so once you get your BA in fine arts, you have to go to a teacher prep program at a university. So basically you will be getting your masters in education. You have to decide if you want to be an elementary art teacher or a secondary art teacher, and then go earn your masters, your teaching certificate, and your endorsement in art. You will have an easier time, because you have already taken a majority of the art classes that you need in order to get your art endorsement. Make sure you do a lot of research at the university to make sure you know what classes you have to take in order to get everything in order. Each university has a set of classes that you have to take to get your elementary (or secondary) endorsement, and your art endorsement.

Do not worry, there will always be schools that will hire teachers. Even if it is not in your city or even your state, there will be a school somewhere that will need an art teacher. I would recommend getting your secondary teaching certificate instead of trying to teach in the elementary schools. It is harder to find art classes in the elementary schools. Subbing is competitive, but you CAN find work. This is the time to get your name on peoples minds, and your foot in the door. Even if you are competing with people who have taught for several years, if you are a good sub the schools will pick you over the other person.

Oh and you might want to check into getting even ANOTHER endorsement if you can. I am GUESSING (because I don’t know your universities requirements, or what classes you have taken for your BAFA) that you have taken a majority of your art endorsement classes already. So you might just have to take the secondary teaching classes and you will have time to get another endorsement (math, sped, science, etc). This makes you even MORE qualified. Maybe a high school will hire you as a math teacher, because they want an after school art club or something. Adding endorsements is a good thing. BUT remember to check if you can do that first.

Don’t let rude people tell you that you can’t do it.

I don’t see why they’d prefer a person from France because I’m sure a lot of French teachers in the UK are British. You’d probably want to study things like French, English, or comparative literature.

Are you sure you want to teach anywhere in the UK? Have you been there?

I am looking for something that will give me difficalty in math, but i will still learn alot in it. I ant something that will help me understand science more. I really just want to learn about things i like and that will help me become a good teacher.

Any college of education that requires you to meet
todays requirements for passing the Praxis exams
will help you become a math and science teacher.

You will be required to take Algebra, Calculus, and
Geometry and Differential Equations and Mathematics
for Teachers, along with methods of teaching classes
to help you know how to convey important ideas to students.

I’m going to also advice that you learn to pay attention to
your English and spelling, college is spelled college, not
collage and I suspect you meant "want" when you typed
ant. That may have been a typo, but if you are going
to be the person who sets the standard for earning 100%
in your class, you must seek excellence in your own work
at all times. The word difficulty is spelled with a "u" where
you typed an "a" also.

Any university that is accredited by your state to provide
teacher education is an excellent choice. In my local area,
The Ohio State University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Capital
University and Ohio Dominican University offer great programs
for those wishing to become teachers.

Once you get out of college, can you apply as a teacher right away, or do you have to be a substitute first? Because that’s what I heard. Or are there other certain things you have to do before becoming a real, full-time teacher. Also, I thought you needed a Bachelor’s degree to become a teacher, but I heard a couple time you needed at least a Master’s degree. So which is it?

Going backwards here:
Masters degree? Some places require a teacher to obtain a master’s within a certain amount of time, but I am not aware of any US public schools that require it before they will hire you.

If you earn your Bachelor’s degree and have completed your student teaching, you are ready to become a "real, full-time teacher." Call the school districts or check their websites to find out what info they need with your application.

Some teachers do substitute work while they are in school or before they find a permanent job. It can be a very good way to let principals know you and to practice your skills.

You should also know that there are different requirements for public vs private schools. Many private schools do not require state certification in order to teach.

Okay so if I wanted to become a University Proffesor, I could just get a PhD? Also, how long does it take? And what’s some tips on being a freshman in high school???Lol

You should only get a PhD if your main interest is to do research/teach university. If you want to be a high school English teacher you’ll only need to go as high as getting your Master’s in education… a PhD really isn’t necessary or worth your time and money.

First you should decide what level you want to teach, high school or college. For high school you would need to go to college and get your bachelor’s degree and teacher certification. It would probably take about 5 years. For college you will need a Masters degree or a PhD. Its up to you. Good luck.

I really want to be a teacher at my Local Youth Center to work with teen criminals because I want to help them to become better people. I’m only 15(going into Grade 10, after summer), but I know I want to be a teacher. I live in Ontario, Canada and I am looking for tips on How to Become A Teacher, and achieve my goals. THANKS to everyone who answers (with actual answers that will help with my question).

How will you help them become better people? What will you tell them?
Does Canada have school districts? If so, contact a school district and ask what the requirements are to be a teacher.
If Canada schools allow students to be teacher’s aides, then volunteer for that. Work with teachers.
In California/U.S. there is a shortage of math teachers, especially at the high school level. What shortage of teachers exist in your area? Is there a shortage of English teachers, math, history, etc. Find that out.
Also, now is the time to focus on how you learn. There are two types of teachers. Those who teach like all other teachers. They parrot teaching techniques. Then there are creative, patient, kind teachers. They can take a student who’s having trouble in math. They can take that student and help him or her tremendously.
Try to learn study techniques. Numerous books exists on how to study, how to learn, how to pass exams. These will not only help you now as you learn, but they will definitely help you when you become a teacher.
If you want to help young people who are in trouble with the law, I would suggest taking psychology courses, have a belief system, getting involved with volunteer work at a center where you will have to help others. Maybe volunteer at center for the blind. No they aren’t necessarily criminals, but they are people and they need help and it will expose you to helping others. Being only 15 years of age, you may have to wait a year or two to do some volunteer. Maybe you can volunteer in a year or two at crisis hotline.
Also, and I say this with kindness. Do not think that you will change lives just because you show care to others. The world is a most cruel place these days. It is full of selfishness. You seek a great work, but changing a life for the better takes patience, lots of patience. If you remain patient, you will change lives, but you will not think or realize you are. And the change you make may come years after you begin teaching. Don’t get discouraged. And so you must know why, why do you want to teach. What are you so passionate about teaching? Know that first. Be honest. Search.
But if you really want to be a teacher . . . live like one. Read books about people, great leaders. Books about their lives. Learn about honesty, integrity, values, hardwork, respecting others.
Good Luck
