How do you build up your self esteem?
I’m 15 I’ve never had self esteem. I’ve been picked on a lot by my neighbor who is a jerk. So how do I build back up my self esteem.
G-Change You Worlds- The Inner world. The Immediate world, The Outer world
You can rebuild your worlds in the style you like. Not just your perceptions or Inner world. Even people who have their immediate world- their capacities for personal organization and accumulation together, and whose health is great, are living in an outer world that is chaotic, unstable, and has way too much greed, anger, and stupidity. Some of that misery even threatens human progress. The power of focused intention with rationality based tools is far greater than conventions have us imagine.
It is first necessary to evaluate assumptions to see which ones are pragmatically verifiable, and which are put there by various influences with agendas. After all the non-verifiable assumptions are discarded you wind up with these few simple truths.
1-Everything is always changing. The time scales vary, but nothing is constant.
2-Causes produce effects. Sometimes this is not obvious and there is a choice about choosing to believe in gods who can suspend cause-effect, or sticking with the pragmatically observable.
3-Life is both physical and non-physical. The bag of mostly water is just a bag of mostly water without the intangibles like life, hope, identity, consciousness.
-Putting these 3 truths into a simple formula to focus on will enable the mind to be much more effective at dealing with whatever.
-Respecting rationally derived truth is the best way to live.
-English is not a great language in which to easily summarize deep truth.
The above points (except for the English part) were summarized in Japan by the monk Nichiren in the 13th century.
His version is so high octane that it takes years for people to discard their disbelief, even when they get phenomenal results in their life by reciting the formula in Japanese-Nam Myoho Renge Kyo- and joining with others who also have the same observations that underlie your question. It’s one thing to be smart and frustrated; it is another to decide to try an extremely effective method of arranging the world to delete the need for your question. Results are better than frustration.

Forget that dude. I had low self esteem but i don’t now. I just to be skinny never had a gf and was quiet around people but i changed. I started working out and exercising and started to not care what people said. Everyone at somepoint feels like crap and ugly but they come back from it here are some guidelines.
Start with the little things. Take small steps and make small choices to gain confidence in your ability to make a decision. As you become secure in your ability to make good choices, you will gain confidence in yourself, and be more secure about your abilities in general.
For example, if purchasing jeans makes you nervous because of having to decide on brands, colors, and styles, then just take the plunge. This is a minor decision that can always be rectified by exchanging the jeans if you really feel you made a wrong decision. However, try to stick to your original choice.
Buy a shirt next, to go with the jeans. Take your time trying on different styles and colors. When you feel a bit of excitement inside of you, you will know you are making a good decision, so buy it. It is that inner feeling that will help you build up your feeling of self worth. You will begin to think, ‘If I can do this well, I can do other things!’ Your confidence grows, and so does your self esteem. Confidence and self worth go hand in hand.
Wear your jeans and shirt the next time you go to meet friends. Show off your outfit. You will know by the compliments you get that you did indeed make a good decision. Smile and be proud of yourself because you took the first step of many in gaining confidence in yourself via your ability to make decisions. The new found confidence comes from your willingness to assert yourself and make a simple decision.
Don’t always try to please others. It is considerate to care about others’ feelings but your needs are important also. Do not try to be like someone else either. You will be at your best when you are being yourself because of your uniqueness. Strive to be your best, do not criticize yourself if you fall short of your expectations.
Avoid negative people. People who have a negative attitude which may rub off on you are not good for you. If you’re timid, loud and aggressive people are probably not good for you, and vice versa. Whatever you do, do not compare yourself to others. Just be the best that you can be.
Face your fears and learn from your failures. We only fail when we do not make the best out of adversity. When something doesn’t go the way we would like it to, there is something to be learned from that, which can be applied next time you are in a similar situation. Get up and try again.
Stop the negative thoughts. Try positive thinking on for size. The term “self-fulfilling prophecy” in relation to self-esteem basically states that whatever you believe about you, whether it be perfect or totally off base, becomes true. If you constantly tell yourself you are stupid or that you will never achieve success, you will in turn act as such. So, make a habit out of saying positive things about yourself and use the self-fulfilling prophecy to your advantage. Look in a mirror and see the good things such as if you have big brown eyes say "Wow I have big cute brown eyes!" or "My freckles are so cute!"
Improve your self confidence. You can do this by simply doing things that you make you feel good, like accomplishing something. Accomplishment is the key ingredient to gaining self confidence. Just do it, don’t worry about making mistakes. We all make mistakes.
Do something to impress yourself. Volunteer at a homeless shelter or vet’s office. Be a Big Brother or Sister. Help someone else. Nothing makes you feel better about yourself than seeing how your help can make someone else’s load a little lighter. Take a class, study hard, and pass – learn something useful or interesting. It could be photography, oil painting, a literature appreciation class, or beginning guitar. Do a daring feat: bungee jump off a bridge, skydive, go hang gliding (all with a guide, of course). Accomplishment raises self-esteem by raising self confidence.
Don’t worry about being "perfect." Aiming for perfection in life is a lost cause because it is different things to different people. Nobody is perfect in the eyes of everyone else, so by trying to be perfect you may just be setting yourself up for disappointment and failure. Instead, seek to achieve goals. For example, take a class in the visual arts. The visual arts allow you to explore yourself and find "perfection" in "imperfections". This self exploration, artistic knowledge, and the accomplishment of finishing the class can do wonders for your self-esteem.
Learn to appreciate yourself. Everyone has strengths, weaknesses, habits, and principles that define who you are and can make you distinctive. Spend more time focusing on the qualities about yourself that you like and less on the ones that you dislike. You can better accomplish this by taking up ho

Methods of Self Motivation:
1. Talk about your plans.
2. Talk about anything you’re passionate about, and transfer the energy created to your mind power goals. If talking politics gets you going, for example, do that, and then work on brain exercises, while connecting the two in your mind (Think "With more brainpower, I can find a new way to change things politically" or maybe just that you’ll win more arguments).
3. Strengthen your desire. Seeing the rewards of your effort clearly motivates you. A good salesman can have you living in your imagined dream home in minutes, and you’ll feel motivated to do anything to make it real. Learn to be your own salesman.
4. Use pain. Neuro-linguistic programming teaches you to link pain with inaction. (Be careful with this one – it isn’t for everyone.) If I imagine myself on the couch wasting time, and then see myself looking at a lousy bank statement, I’m motivated to get to work. You could try seeing yourself in a room where you are the least intelligent person – but then see yourself returning with increased mind power.
5. Be truly interested. If you really don’t care about something, it will be almost impossible to feel motivated. If however, it’s just a task you’re having trouble with, connect it clearly in your mind to the greater goal. I don’t like typing, but when I se the finished lesson in my mind, I’m ready to work.
6. Have the proper mental state. It’s hard to be depressed and motivated. Resolve some of your negative feelings if you can. At least take advantage of your ups and downs, by doing your mind power work when you’re in a better mood.
7. Take any small step. There is momentum in action. Any small step towards your goals feeds your motivation. If I force myself to write the title and first line of an article, I usually end up writing the whole article. Commit to five minutes of creative problem solving exercises, and you might find yourself doing them for an hour.
Energy For Self Motivation – Sometimes, the biggest problem is a lack of energy. Some of the above self motivation techniques address this issue indirectly, but here are some more energy boosters:
8. Music. Different types have different effects on us, so experiment. When you find music that energizes you, keep it ready.
9. Energy drinks. The verdict isn’t in on most of them, but it’s a cheap option to try. I seem to get a boost from the ones with Ginkgo Biloba in them.
10. Coffee. The original energy drink. Caffeine can make you more tired if it’s abused, but short-term, it can work wonders.
11. Better sleep. As long as you get at least five hours of sleep, the quality seems to be more important than the quantity.
12. Deep breathing. Three slow deep breaths through your nose will help oxygenate your blood, and especially seems to wake up the brain.
13. Moving your body. Washing the dishes, or walking around the house can boost energy levels.
14. Hot and cold showers. A minute of hot water, a minute of cold, alternating for six minutes. This isn’t for those with weak hearts, but it will wake you up. Incidentally, research shows it also revs up the immune system.
15. Outdoors. Sometimes a little sunshine and fresh air can be very energizing.
